The geographic database is based on cartography with precise boundaries of the sugar estates and lots harvested by 13 sugar mills. The topical maps were prepared on the basis of studies carried out by Cenicaña and other institutions such as the Agustín Codazzi Geographic Institute (IGAC), the Cauca Valley Autonomous Regional Corporation (CVC) and the sugar mills. The data on commercial production and the cartography of lots and sugar estates are supplied by the sugar mills. Any inconsistency in the information should be modified by the respective mill.

What does this tool offer?

Access to the topic coverage available by sugar estate and cane lots when consulting the GIS: Semidetailed and detailed studies of soils, soil management groups, natural drainage, isowater balance, moisture groups, agroecological zones, groups of homogeneous lots, meteorological data, climate behavior and commercial production.

The map server integrates the GIS database with the commercial production databases and the Automated Weather Network's (AWN) of the sugar sector. The maps show the spatial distribution -by sugar estate and cane lots- agroecological, climatological and production information.
