Agronomy program
It began activities in 1979 with the mission of reducing production costs by developing the technology required to improve cane productivity and quality. The research topics are grouped under water management, plant nutrition and fertilization, soil management, cultural practices, maturity control, agricultural mechanization, meteorology, Geographic Information System and remote perception.
Its vision is to become a program that produces technology to improve the competitiveness of the sugar and alcohol sectors, recognized by the Colombian sugar industry and the national and international scientific community as a program of excellence.
